Dear Fellows and Members of the Hong Kong College of Paediatricians,

 

The Paediatric Neurology (PN) is now recognized as a Paediatric Subspecialty in the Hong Kong College of Paediatricians, it has been registered in the Specialist Register in The Medical Council of Hong Kong since September 2013. We are now calling for application enrollment of PN trainees for Year 2021. Please kindly find enclosed files of Training Programme Information and Application Form for your kind attention. Information is also available at the College website: www.paediatrician.org.hk

 

Please be reminded that the training programme will commence from 2nd July 2021. The deadline for enrollment of the PN Training Programme will be on 3 May 2021 (Monday), 5:00 pm. If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact the undersigned.

Dear Associates 

Attached please find a circular detailing the application procedures for the above exam. Application period is from now to 30 March 2021 (Tuesday). Relevant application forms and documents can be downloaded from the College website.

* Please note that a candidate declaration form will need to be completed and submitted with Application Form D.

Examination Fee HK$16,600

Payment should be made payable to Hong Kong College of Paediatricians.

Please note that
1. Candidates who have applied for the February 2020 MRCPCH Clinical Exam will be given priority to sit the exam. The examination fee will be transferred to the current diet. 

2. Candidates have a period of 7 years to complete the Clinical Examination from the date he/she passed all of the theory examinations. There is no limit to the number of attempts. If candidates are not able to pass the Clinical Examination within the seven years, he/she has to re-sit the Applied Knowledge in Practice Examination in order to take the Clinical Examination again.

Dear Members,

The next Exit Assessment of the College will be held on 17 June 2021 (Thursday). Attached please find an announcement, application form, FORM A and FORM B for your information. Members wishing to sit this Exit Assessment can send your completed applications to the College from now until 1 April 2021 (Thursday).

Please be reminded to include FORM A (Record of Higher Training in Paediatrics) and FORM B (Checklist for Dissertations) in your submission. Both hard and soft copies of your dissertations should also be submitted.

1.For all trainees who started their basic paediatric training on or after 1 July 2009, a proof of completion of a formal Child Protection Course within their 6-year Paediatric Training Programme should be submitted along with the application.

2.Dissertations submitted for this Exit Assessment will be considered for the 2021 Best Dissertation Prize awarded by the College. Case reports will not be considered for the Prize.

MRCPCH Applied Knowledge in Practice (previously Part II) Examination, 19 May 2021 (Wednesday)

Please be informed that the next MRCPCH Applied Knowledge in Practice (AKP) Exam will be held in HK on 19th May 2021.  Candidates wishing to sit the above exam in HK please apply both online using the RCPCH website ( https://www.rcpch.ac.uk/user ) AND submit paper applications to our College.  Please study carefully the details of application as outlined in the attached circular.

Application period

4 March 2021 (Thu) – 15 March 2021 (Mon)

Examination Fee

HK$8,800

Payment should be made payable to Hong Kong College of Paediatricians.

Please find the Application Form C for your use. 

Options for sitting this exam

  1. At a test centre in person, or
  2. At your own home or workplace with online invigilation (pls refer to online invigilation quick guide)

Remarks:

1. All theory exams have been moved to computer-based testing since January 2015. Please refer to the RCPCH website for more CBT information:

2. Sample examination questions are available on the RCPCH website for candidates viewing.  Candidates sitting for CBT exams are strongly advised to study these sample questions at this link (https://www.rcpch.ac.uk/resources/theory-exam-sample-papers)

3. Candidates can sit the MRCPCH theory exams in any order, and are allowed to take the Applied Knowledge in Practice Exam as their first MRCPCH theory exam.

4. Those candidates who have never taken an exam with the RCPCH and/or do not have an RCPCH number are advised to first register for an exam account with the RCPCH well before the application period (preferably 10 working days before the application period opens).  You are not able to apply for any exams online until your registration for an exam account is accepted.
