32nd AGM, Annual Conferment Ceremony

cum Annual Dinner

2 & 3 Dec (Saturday & Sunday) 

 

This is a cordial invitation to all College fellows, members and associates to the 2023 Annual Scientific Meeting and the 32nd Annual General Meeting of the College.

This year we have the pleasure of colleagues from Guangdong and Macao joining us at this important weekend of the year. 

At the Scientific Meeting, speakers from Guangdong, Macao and Hong Kong will speak on topics of neonatology, oncology and haematology, paediatric specialty training and more. The winners of the Best Dissertation Prize and the Best Young Investigator Prizes will also present their papers to mark their outstanding achievements. The scientific meeting will start at 2 pm at the HKAM building on 2 December 2023 (Saturday) and end at noon the next day.

Following the end of the first day of scientific meetings, the 32nd AGM will start at 6:00 pm on 2 December 2023 at Lim Por Yen Lecture Theatre. It will be followed by the Annual Conferment Ceremony at Run Run Shaw Hall. 

The Annual Dinner will start at 8:15 pm at Run Run Shaw Hall. We would welcome you and your families to join us at this yearly celebration. You will also be able to mingle with our guests from Guangdong and Macao, as well as local colleagues.

We look forward to your participation at this special weekend in December.

Dear Members, 

The next Exit Assessment of the College will be held on 18 December 2023 (Monday). Attached please find an announcement, application form, FORM A and FORM B for your information. Members wishing to sit this Exit Assessment can send your completed applications to the College from 18 September 2023 (Monday) onwards until 13 October 2023 (Friday).

 Please be reminded to include FORM A (Record of Higher Training in Paediatrics) and FORM B (Checklist for Dissertations) in your submission. Both hard and soft copies of your dissertations should also be submitted.

1.For all trainees who started their basic paediatric training on or after 1 July 2009, a proof of completion of a formal Child Protection Course within their 6-year Paediatric Training Programme should be submitted along with the application.

2.For all trainees who started their higher paeditric training on or after 1st July 2020, a proof of completion of a formal Paediatric Palliative Care Course within their 6-year Paediatric Training Programme should be submitted along with the application.

3.Dissertations submitted for this Exit Assessment will be considered for the 2024 Best Dissertation Prize awarded by the College. Case reports will not be considered for the Prize.

Dear Members and Fellows of the Hong Kong College of Paediatricians,

It is our pleasure to inform you that Paediatric Haematology & Oncology (PHO) is inviting applicants to apply for training in the PHO subspecialty. The PHO SB is registered in the Specialist Register of The Medical Council of Hong Kong in 2022 with the specialty code of S65. We are now calling for enrolment of PHO trainees for the programme commencing in year 2024. Please find the enclosed files of Application Information and Training Application Form. The information and the training curriculum are available at the College website: www.paediatrician.org.hk

MRCPCH FOP & TAS Examination (Part I), 18 Oct 2023 (Wednesday)

 

The MRCPCH FOP & TAS examination will be held on 18 Oct 2023 (Wednesday).  The application will be opened from 10 Aug to 21 Aug.  Candidates wishing to sit the above exam in HK please apply both online using the RCPCH website ( https://www.rcpch.ac.uk/user ) AND submit paper applications to our College.

 Please study carefully the details of application as outlined in the attached circular.

FOP & TAS (both papers)        HK$7,600

FOP only (single paper)           HK$4,700

TAS only (single paper)           HK$4,700

 Payment should be made payable to Hong Kong College of Paediatricians.

  1. 1.At your own home or workplace online invigilation (pls refer to online invigilation quick guide attached)

Remarks: Please note that there will NOT be any test centre option for this diet of exam.

 Remarks:

 

1.  All theory exams have been moved to computer-based testing since January 2015. Please refer to the RCPCH website for more CBT information: https://www.rcpch.ac.uk/resources/theory-exams-mrcpch-dch-how-apply

 

2.  Sample examination questions are available on the RCPCH website for candidates viewing. Candidates sitting for CBT exams are strongly advised to study these sample questions at this link(https://www.rcpch.ac.uk/resources/theory-exam-sample-papers).

 

3.  Candidates can sit the MRCPCH theory exams in any order, and are allowed to take the Applied Knowledge in Practice Exam as their first MRCPCH theory exam.

 

  1. 4.Those candidates who have never taken an exam with the RCPCH and/or do not have an RCPCH number are advised toregister(preferably 10 working days before the application period opens).  You do not need to wait until a specific examination opens to apply for an RCPCH online account.  You are not able to apply for any exams online until your registrationfor an exam account is accepted.

 5.For details of online application procedures, please refer to Guidance Notes for HK candidates attached.
