Dear Fellows and Members of the Hong Kong College of Paediatricians,   Re:  Subspecialty of Paediatric Respiratory Medicine (PRM) – Invitation for Enrollment of Training Programme (commencing from 2nd July 2024)   The Paediatric Respiratory Medicine (PRM) is recognized as a Paediatric Subspecialty in the Hong Kong College of Paediatricians, it has been registered in the Specialist Register in The Medical Council of Hong Kong since May 2016. MRCPCH Applied Knowledge in Practice (Part II) Examination, 22 May 2024 (Wednesday)

Dear Associates MRCPCH Applied Knowledge in Practice (Part II) Examination, 22 May 2024 (Wednesday) Please be informed that the next MRCPCH Applied Knowledge in Practice (AKP) Exam will be held in HK on 22 May 2024.  Candidates wishing to sit the above exam in HK please apply both online using the RCPCH website (https://www.rcpch.ac.uk/user) AND submit paper applications to our College.   Please study carefully the details of application as outlined in the attached circular. Application period 4 March 2024 (Mon) - 14 March 2024 (Thu) *for applications for online invigilation, closing date is 8 March 2024 (Friday)   Examination Fee HK$8,800 Payment should be made payable to Hong Kong College of Paediatricians. Attached please find an Application Form C for your use.    Options for sitting this exam At your own home or workplace with online invigilation (pls refer to online invigilation quick guide attached) Note: Please note that there will NOT be any test centre option for this diet of exam.    Remarks: 1. All theory exams have been moved to computer-based testing since January 2015. Please refer to the RCPCH website for more CBT information: https://www.rcpch.ac.uk/resources/theory-exams-mrcpch-dch-how-apply 2. CME Online (March 2024) Dear Colleagues, I am sending you the e-blast notification of Category A CME activities for the month of March. Monthly CME activities in the New Google Calendar Format We have adopted the Google Calendar to tabulate the accredited CME activities for the coming month. Please click HERE.   Cancellation of dual capture requirement of virtual CME activities longer than one hour Please kindly note the “dual capture” requirement of virtual CME events longer than one hour has been cancelled. From now on, fellows attending any CME activity need only to record their attendance once using the method designated by the event organizer, regardless of the event duration. This applies to both face-to-face meetings and virtual meetings.   Guidelines and declaration of handling commercial influence on the CME activities We would like to draw the attention of the CME event organizers to the new requirement, recently adopted by the HKAM, of declaring the appropriate handling of commercial sponsorship when applying for CME accreditation. The three-point declaration has been added to the application form, both on the College Website and on the iCMECPD website. All CME event organizers are kindly reminded to avoid undue commercial influence on the educational material provided in their activities. Application for accreditation of the proposed Subspecialty of Paediatric Cardiology (PC) - Open consultation

Proposed Subspecialty of Paediatric Cardiology (PC) - Open consultation   Consultation Period: 14 February to 13 May, 2024   To:  All Fellows, Members and Associates of the Hong Kong College of Paediatricians Please read this IMPORTANT announcement about the application for accreditation of the proposed Subspecialty of Paediatric Cardiology (PC). As you are no doubt aware, our College is responsible for ensuring the standards and progress of paediatric subspecialty development in Hong Kong.  In order to ensure that we maintain the highest standards possible for any subspecialty accredited by our College, we strictly follow all pre-requisite criteria set by the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine and our College.  The relevant application procedures are available on our College’s website (http://www.paediatrician.org.hk) under the section on “Subspecialties”. So far, seven paediatric subspecialty groups have applied for accreditation and have become accredited subspecialties under our College, i.e., Paediatric Immunology and Infectious Diseases (PIAID), Developmental-Behavioural Paediatrics (DBP), Paediatric Neurology (PN), Paediatric Respiratory Medicine (PRM), Paediatric Endocrinology (PE), Genetic & Genomics (Paediatrics) and Paediatric Haematology and Oncology (PHO). We now announce that our College has received an application for accreditation of the proposed Subspecialty of Paediatric Cardiology (PC). In order to facilitate open consultation on the accreditation of Paediatric Cardiology as a paediatric subspecialty, our College has uploaded the application documents (i.e., application forms, proposed training programme, and supporting letters from external referees) to our College website for your information and review. Dear Fellows, Members and Associates, I am very pleased to announce the first Paediatric Update by the College this year on 2 March 2024 (Saturday) 2 pm at M Ground Lecture Theatre, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, 30 Gascoigne Road, Kowloon. The title is "Rashes in Children". We have invited five experts to give us talks on different rashes. The talks will be enriched with a lot of illustrated examples. It will be a great refresher, not only for the MRCPCH clinical exam but also for our daily work.
