CME Online (Feb 2023)  Dear Colleagues, I am sending you the e-blast notification of the Category A CME activities of the month of February. The College secretariat would like to remind all fellows, members and associates to keep their contact information up to date. This will ensure that your CME credits can be traced back to you. I would like to draw your attention also to the point that all Category A CME organizers (professional societies, associations, studies groups etc) are required to return the attendance record of a CME activity within four weeks. The College will credit the relevant merits to the individual usually within weeks. If you find that your CME attendances have not been credited to your account, it would be helpful if you can contact the organizing body to confirm if the CME attendance has been submitted to the College already. A new set of CME guideline was implemented on 1 January 2023. The main changes are the requirement of online CME activities and also the addition a new category of Category E CME activities that aims at enhancing the wellbeing of our fellows. As this CME cycle comes to a close, most of our fellows have made the CME requirement. Dr NS Tsoi has been diligently reminding the small number of fellows who have not collected the required CME points. For this I have to thank Dr Tsoi for his herculean and selfless effort. MRCPCH Foundation of Practice, Theory & Science Examination (formerly Part I), 15 February 2023 (Wednesday)

Dear Associates, Please be informed that the next MRCPCH Foundation of Practice, Theory & Science (FOP TAS) Examination will be held on 15 February 2023  (Wednesday). Candidates wishing to sit this exam in HK must apply both online using the RCPCH website ( https://www.rcpch.ac.uk/user ) AND submit paper applications to our College. Please study carefully the details of application as outlined in the attached circular. Please also find an Application Form B for your use. Online Application period7 December 2022 (Wed) - 19th December 2022 (Mon) Options for sitting this exam1. At a test centre in person, or2. At your own home or workplace with online invigilation (online invigilation guide) Note: If there is not enough enrollment of test centre option, RCPCH reserves the right to cancel test centre option and transfer candidates to online invigilation option.   Examination FeeFOP & TAS (both papers) HK$7,600FOP only (single paper) HK$4,700TAS only (single paper) HK$4,700 Payment should be made payable to Hong Kong College of Paediatricians. You are strongly advised to submit your online application promptly. Those candidates who have never taken an exam with the RCPCH and/or do not have an RCPCH number are advised to first register with the RCPCH well before the application period. You do not need to wait until a specific examination opens to apply for an RCPCH online account. A RCPCH number is needed in order to access the online application forms for exams. MRCPCH Clinical Examination, 21-22 February 2023 (Tuesday to Wednesday)

Dear Associates Attached please find a circular detailing the application procedures for the above exam. Application period starts from 15 November 2022 (Tuesday) to 5 December 2022 (Monday). Please fill in relevant application forms and submit to College Secretariat with cheque before the deadline.  * Please note that a candidate declaration form will need to be completed and submitted with Application Form D. Examination Fee HK$16,600 Payment should be made payable to Hong Kong College of Paediatricians. Please note that candidates have a period of 7 years to complete the Clinical Examination from the date he/she passed all of the theory examinations. There is no limit to the number of attempts.  If candidates are not able to pass the Clinical Examination within the seven years, he/she has to re-sit the Applied Knowledge in Practice Examination in order to take the Clinical Examination again. Dear Members/Fellows of the Hong Kong College of Paediatricians, The Paediatric Endocrinology (PE) is now recognised as a Paediatric Subspecialty in the Hong Kong College of Paediatricians. It has been registered in the Specialist Register in The Medical Council of Hong Kong since February 2019. The PE Subspecialty Board now invites application from trainees for enrollment in the Training Programme. Please kindly find enclosed file of training application form. Dear Associates, Members and Fellows of the Hong Kong College of Paediatricians,   INVITATION FOR CHIEF EDITOR The Hong Kong Journal of Paediatrics (HKJP) is a quarterly joint publication of the Hong Kong College of Paediatricians (HKCPead) and The Hong Kong Paediatric Society (HKPS). The position of Chief Editor of the Hong Kong Journal of Paediatrics is now open for application for the three-year term starting on 1 Feb 2023. The Chief Editor will lead the Editorial Board with the assistance of Associate Editors and will be responsible for decisions related to journal content, editorial strategies, as well as the Journal’s future direction.   Duties and Responsibilities Reviewing and evaluating quality, appropriateness and priority for publication of content submitted to the Journal Ensuring the quality of all Journal content and the timely release of each issue of the Journal Resolving problems that arise from time to time, such as plagiarism and ensuring articles are original and have not been published before elsewhere Approving the publication’s layout Securing submissions from high-quality contributors (authors) and maintaining a network of reliable and expert reviewers  Competences and Skills  Strong academic background in paediatrics Experience in editing academic journals is highly preferred Strong credentials in scientific research and in academic publications in paediatrics  Compensation and Benefits The position is voluntary and unpaid, and the Chief Editor could also hold full-time positions at academic medical centres  Required Materials  A full CV including education, work experience, academic achievements, and a brief description of your qualifications related to this position Representative research publications over the past 5 years  Application Procedure  The application bundle should be sent via e-mail to  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
