CME Online (May 2023) Dear Colleagues, I am sending you the e-blast notification of Category A CME activities of the month of May. The College Secretariat would like to remind all fellows, members and associates to keep your contact information up to date. This will ensure that the CME credits can be traced back to you. You are invited to enrol in the eHKAM platform. This is a new electronic platform that is connected to the Academy’s Learning Management System. All future e-learning, including the CME quizzes that comes with the HK Journal of Paediatrics and the HK Medical Journal, will be available on the Learning Management System. The College would also remind you that a fellow is required to obtain at least 90 CME points in a three-year cycle. Dear Fellows and Members of the Hong Kong College of Paediatricians, Re: Subspecialty of Paediatric Neurology (PN) – Invitation for Enrollment of Training Programme (commencing from 3rd July 2023) The Paediatric Neurology (PN) is now recognized as a Paediatric Subspecialty in the Hong Kong College of Paediatricians, it has been registered in the Specialist Register in The Medical Council of Hong Kong since September 2013. We are now calling for application enrollment of PN trainees for Year 2023. Please kindly find enclosed files of Training Programme Information and Application Form for your kind attention. Dear Associates, Please be informed that the next MRCPCH Foundation of Practice, Theory & Science (FOP TAS) Examination will be held on 21 June 2023 (Wednesday). Candidates wishing to sit this exam in HK must apply both online using the RCPCH website ( https://www.rcpch.ac.uk/user ) AND submit paper applications to our College. Please study carefully the details of application as outlined in the attached circular. Please also find an Application Form B for your use. Online Application period5 April 2023 - 17 April 2023 Options for sitting this exam1. At your own home or workplace with online invigilation(online invigilation guide)Remarks: Please note that there will NOT be any test centre option for this diet of exam. Examination FeeFOP & TAS (both papers) HK$7,600FOP only (single paper) HK$4,700TAS only (single paper) HK$4,700 Payment should be made payable to Hong Kong College of Paediatricians. You are strongly advised to submit your online application promptly. Those candidates who have never taken an exam with the RCPCH and/or do not have an RCPCH number are advised to first register with the RCPCH well before the application period. You do not need to wait until a specific examination opens to apply for an RCPCH online account. A RCPCH number is needed in order to access the online application forms for exams. Dear Members, The next Exit Assessment of the College will be held on 15 June 2023 (Thursday). Attached please find an announcement, application form, FORM A and FORM B for your information. Members wishing to sit this Exit Assessment can send your completed applications to the College from 24 March 2023 (Friday) onwards until 25 April 2023 (Tuesday). Please be reminded to include FORM A (Record of Higher Training in Paediatrics) and FORM B (Checklist for Dissertations) in your submission. Both hard and soft copies of your dissertations should also be submitted. 1.For all trainees who started their basic paediatric training on or after 1 July 2009, a proof of completion of a formal Child Protection Course within their 6-year Paediatric Training Programme should be submitted along with the application. 2.For all trainees who started their higher paeditric training on or after 1st July 2020, a proof of completion of a formal Paediatric Palliative Care Course within their 6-year Paediatric Training Programme should be submitted along with the application. 3.Dissertations submitted for this Exit Assessment will be considered for the 2023 Best Dissertation Prize awarded by the College.
