Dear Associates, Members and Fellows of the Hong Kong College of Paediatricians,
INVITATION FOR CHIEF EDITOR The Hong Kong Journal of Paediatrics (HKJP) is a quarterly joint publication of the Hong Kong College of Paediatricians (HKCPead) and The Hong Kong Paediatric Society (HKPS). The position of Chief Editor of the Hong Kong Journal of Paediatrics is now open for application for the three-year term starting on 1 Feb 2023. The Chief Editor will lead the Editorial Board with the assistance of Associate Editors and will be responsible for decisions related to journal content, editorial strategies, as well as the Journal’s future direction.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reviewing and evaluating quality, appropriateness and priority for publication of content submitted to the Journal
Ensuring the quality of all Journal content and the timely release of each issue of the Journal
Resolving problems that arise from time to time, such as plagiarism and ensuring articles are original and have not been published before elsewhere
Approving the publication’s layout
Securing submissions from high-quality contributors (authors) and maintaining a network of reliable and expert reviewers
Competences and Skills
Strong academic background in paediatrics
Experience in editing academic journals is highly preferred
Strong credentials in scientific research and in academic publications in paediatrics
Compensation and Benefits
The position is voluntary and unpaid, and the Chief Editor could also hold full-time positions at academic medical centres
Required Materials
A full CV including education, work experience, academic achievements, and a brief description of your qualifications related to this position
Representative research publications over the past 5 years

Dear Members and Fellows of the Hong Kong College of Paediatricians,
It is our great pleasure to inform you that Paediatric Haematology & Oncology (PHO) is now recognized as a Paediatric Subspecialty in the Hong Kong College of Paediatricians. It has been registered in the Specialist Register of The Medical Council of Hong Kong in 2022 with the specialty code of S65. We are now calling for enrolment of PHO trainees for the programme commencing in year 2023. Please find the enclosed files of Training Curriculum, Application Information and Training Application Form.
Please be reminded that the training programme will commence on 1st January 2023. The deadline for enrolment for this admission will be on 30 November 2022, (Wednesday), 5:00 pm. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact the undersigned.

MRCPCH Applied Knowledge in Practice (previously Part II) Examination, 18 Jan 2023 (Wednesday)
Please be informed that the next MRCPCH Applied Knowledge in Practice (AKP) Exam will be held in HK on 18th Jan 2023. Candidates wishing to sit the above exam in HK please apply both online using the RCPCH website (https://www.rcpch.ac.uk/user) AND submit paper applications to our College.
Please study carefully the details of application as outlined in the attached circular.
Application period
7 November 2022 (Mon) – 21 November 2022 (Mon)
Examination Fee
HK$8,800
Payment should be made payable to Hong Kong College of Paediatricians.
Attached please find an Application Form C for your use.
Options for sitting this exam
At your own home or workplace with online invigilation (pls refer to online invigilation quick guide attached)
Note: Please note that there will NOT be any test centre option for this diet of exam. If you encounter difficulty in taking the exam in online invigilation format, please consider taking the same exam in Sep 2023 which the test centre option is expected to open at that time.
Remarks:
1. All theory exams have been moved to computer-based testing since January 2015. Please refer to the RCPCH website for more CBT information: https://www.rcpch.ac.uk/resources/theory-exams-mrcpch-dch-how-apply
2. Sample examination questions are available on the RCPCH website for candidates viewing. Candidates sitting for CBT exams are strongly advised to study these sample questions at this link (https://www.rcpch.ac.uk/resources/theory-exam-sample-papers).
3. Candidates can sit the MRCPCH theory exams in any order, and are allowed to take the Applied Knowledge in Practice Exam as their first MRCPCH theory exam.
4. Those candidates who have never taken an exam with the RCPCH and/or do not have an RCPCH number are advised to first register for an exam account with the RCPCH any time before the application period (preferably 10 working days before the application period opens). You do not need to wait until a specific examination opens to apply for an RCPCH online account. You are not able to apply for any exams online until your registration for an exam account is accepted.
5. For details of online application procedures, please refer to the Guidance Notes for HK candidates attached.
