1st Announcement

The Hong Kong Paediatric Society, Hong Kong College of Paediatricians, Hong Kong Paediatric Nurses Association and Hong Kong College of Paediatric Nursing will be hosting a Joint Annual Scientific Meeting on 7^th November 2020 via Zoom. It will be consisting of keynote lectures and free paper presentation sessions. 

This Joint Annual Scientific Meeting serves as a unique platform and chance for various disciplines to share the insights in child health related issues and scientific updates. Your participation would be of utmost importance. Members, doctors, nurses, allied health professionals and other child healthcare workers are cordially invited to submit papers to make this meeting a success. Research papers including those for basic science, clinical studies, patient care, service improvement as well as community projects are all welcome.

Please be informed that the next MRCPCH Applied Knowledge in Practice (AKP) Examination will be held on 12 September 2019. Candidates wishing to sit the above exam in Hong Kong must apply both online using the RCPCH website (https://www.rcpch.ac.uk/user) AND submit paper applications to our College. Please study carefully the details of application as outlined in the attached circular.

26 June 2019 (Wed) – 10 July 2019 (Wed)

Examination Fee
HK$8,800

Payment should be made payable to Hong Kong College of Paediatricians.

Remarks:
1. All theory exams have been moved to computer-based testing since January 2015. Please refer to the RCPCH website for more CBT information:

2. Sample examination questions are available on the RCPCH website for candidates viewing. Candidates sitting for CBT exams are strongly advised to study these sample questions at this link

3. Candidates can sit the MRCPCH theory exams in any order, and can take the Applied Knowledge in Practice Exam as their first MRCPCH theory exam.

4. Those candidates who have never taken an exam with the RCPCH and/or do not have an RCPCH number are advised to first register for an exam account with the RCPCH well before the application period. You are not able to apply for any examinations online until your registration for an exam account is accepted.

Attached please find a circular detailing the application procedures for the above exam. Application period is from 17 June 2019 to 12 July 2019. Relevant application forms and documents can be downloaded from the College website.

* Please note that a candidate declaration form will need to be completed and submitted with Application Form D.

Examination Fee
HK$16,600

Payment should be made payable to Hong Kong College of Paediatricians.

Please note that candidates have a period of 7 years to complete the Clinical Examination from the date he/she passed all of the theory examinations. There is no limit to the number of attempts. If candidates are not able to pass the Clinical Examination within the seven years, he/she has to re-sit the Applied Knowledge in Practice Examination in order to take the Clinical Examination again.
