The year 2026 marks the 35th anniversary of the Hong Kong College of Paediatricians. Since its establishment in 1991, the College has made remarkable progress in nurturing generations of paediatricians, subspecialists, and leaders in the field.

This special day (17 October 2026) will bring together our community for a full, one-day programme of intellectual exchange, professional networking, and joyous celebration at The Mira Hong Kong in Tsimshatsui, Kowloon.

Highlights of the Day

Scientific Meeting featuring plenary lectures and symposiums delivered by top speakers in our key subspecialty fields
Trainee Presentations showcasing the innovative research and clinical work of our next generation of specialists
Cocktail Reception – an opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and friends in a relaxed setting
Celebration Dinner – a memorable evening to honour our shared achievements, reflect on our journey, and look forward to the future

Over the past 35 years, the College has transformed, growing in stature both locally and internationally. To make this auspicious milestone even more memorable, the College will produce a commemorative album honouring our 35-year journey of progress. 

Registration and further details, including the preliminary scientific programme, invited speakers, and booking information for the dinner, will be circulated in the coming months via email and our College website. We encourage you to reserve the date to join the whole-day programme and the celebration dinner.

Re:  Subspecialty of Paediatric Respiratory Medicine (PRM) - Invitation for Enrolment of Training Programme (commencing from 2nd July 2026)

 

The Paediatric Respiratory Medicine (PRM) is recognized as a Paediatric Subspecialty in the Hong Kong College of Paediatricians, it has been registered in the Specialist Register in The Medical Council of Hong Kong since May 2016. We are now calling for application enrollment of PRM trainees for Year 2026.

 

Please kindly find the files of Training Programm and Application Form for your attention.  Information is also available at the College website:  www.paediatrician.org.hk

 

Please be reminded that the training programme will commence from 2nd July 2026. The deadline for enrollment of the PRM Training Programme will be on 30th April 2026 (Thursday), 5:00 pm.  If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact the undersigned.

Dear Members, 

The next Exit Assessment of the College will be held on 18 June 2026 (Thursday). Attached please find an announcement, application form, FORM A and FORM B for your information. Members wishing to sit this Exit Assessment can send your completed applications to the College from 23 March 2026 (Monday) onwards until 10 April 2026 (Friday).

Please be reminded to include FORM A (Record of Higher Training in Paediatrics) and FORM B (Checklist for Dissertations) in your submission. Both hard and soft copies of your dissertations should also be submitted.

1.For all trainees who started their basic paediatric training on or after 1 July 2009, a proof of completion of a formal Child Protection Course within their 6-year Paediatric Training Programme should be submitted along with the application.

2.For all trainees who started their higher paeditric training on or after 1st July 2020, a proof of completion of a formal Paediatric Palliative Care Course within their 6-year Paediatric Training Programme should be submitted along with the application.

3.Dissertations submitted for this Exit Assessment will be considered for the 2026 Best Dissertation Prize awarded by the College. Case reports will not be considered for the Prize.

Dear Members

Please be informed that an important update regarding the Exit Exam.

A Higher Trainee is allowed to sit the Exit Assessment if the Higher Training is expected to be completed by 15 August of the same year (for June Exit) and 15 February of the following year (for December Exit), provided that he/she will make up for the training deficiency after the Assessment. In such a case, elevation to Fellowship will commence only after the deficient training has been completed.

MRCPCH Applied Knowledge in Practice (formerly Part II) Examination, 20 May 2026 (Wednesday)

Please be informed that the next MRCPCH Applied Knowledge in Practice (AKP) Exam will be held in HK on 20 May 2026.  Candidates wishing to sit the above exam in HK please apply both online using the RCPCH website (https://www.rcpch.ac.uk/userAND submit paper applications to our College.  

Please study carefully the details of application as outlined in the attached circular.

Application period

23 February 2026 (Mon) - 2 March 2026 (Mon)

*for applications for online invigilation, closing date is 27 February 2026 (Friday)

 

Examination Fee

HK$8,800

Payment should be made payable to Hong Kong College of Paediatricians.

Attached please find an Application Form C for your use. 

 

Options for sitting this exam

    1. At your own home or workplace with online invigilation (pls refer to online invigilation quick guide attached)

Note: Please note that there will NOT be any test centre option for this diet of exam. 

 


Remarks
:

1. All theory exams have been moved to computer-based testing since January 2015. Please refer to the RCPCH website for more CBT information: https://www.rcpch.ac.uk/resources/theory-exams-mrcpch-dch-how-apply

2. Sample examination questions are available on the RCPCH website for candidates viewing.  Candidates sitting for CBT exams are strongly advised to study these sample questions at this link (https://www.rcpch.ac.uk/resources/theory-exam-sample-papers).

3. Candidates can sit the MRCPCH theory exams in any order, and are allowed to take the Applied Knowledge in Practice Exam as their first MRCPCH theory exam.

4. Those candidates who have never taken an exam with the RCPCH and/or do not have an RCPCH number are advised to first register for an exam account with the RCPCH any time before the application period (preferably 10 working days before the application period opens).  You do not need to wait until a specific examination opens to apply for an RCPCH online account.  You are not able to apply for any exams online until your registration for an exam account is accepted.

5. For details of online application procedures, please refer to the Guidance Notes for HK candidates attached.
