Please be informed that the next MRCPCH Foundation of Practice, Theory & Science (FOP TAS) Examination will be held on 21 June 2023  (Wednesday). Candidates wishing to sit this exam in HK must apply both online using the RCPCH website ( https://www.rcpch.ac.uk/user ) AND submit paper applications to our College. Please study carefully the details of application as outlined in the attached circular. Please also find an Application Form B for your use.

Remarks: Please note that there will NOT be any test centre option for this diet of exam.

FOP & TAS (both papers) HK$7,600
FOP only (single paper) HK$4,700
TAS only (single paper) HK$4,700

Payment should be made payable to Hong Kong College of Paediatricians.

You are strongly advised to submit your online application promptly.

Those candidates who have never taken an exam with the RCPCH and/or do not have an RCPCH number are advised to first register with the RCPCH well before the application period. You do not need to wait until a specific examination opens to apply for an RCPCH online account. A RCPCH number is needed in order to access the online application forms for exams.

There will normally be TWO FOP TAS exams held in HK each year, one in February, and another one in October.

The Subspecialty of Genetics & Genomics (Paediatrics) [GGP] is now recognised as a Paediatric Subspecialty in the Hong Kong College of Paediatricians, it has been registered in the Specialist Register in The Medical Council of Hong Kong since 1 November 2017. We are now calling for application enrollment of GGP trainees for Year 2023, please kindly find enclosed files of Training Programme and Application Form for your attention. Information is also available at the College website: www.paediatrician.org.hk

Please be reminded that the training programme will commence from 1 July 2023. The deadline for enrollment of the GGP Training Programme will be on 30 April 2023, 5:00 pm. If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact the undersigned.

Dear Members,

The next Exit Assessment of the College will be held on 15 June 2023 (Thursday). Attached please find an announcementapplication formFORM A and FORM B for your information. Members wishing to sit this Exit Assessment can send your completed applications to the College from 24 March 2023 (Friday) onwards until 25 April 2023 (Tuesday).

Please be reminded to include FORM A (Record of Higher Training in Paediatrics) and FORM B (Checklist for Dissertations) in your submission. Both hard and soft copies of your dissertations should also be submitted.

1.For all trainees who started their basic paediatric training on or after 1 July 2009, a proof of completion of a formal Child Protection Course within their 6-year Paediatric Training Programme should be submitted along with the application.

2.For all trainees who started their higher paeditric training on or after 1st July 2020, a proof of completion of a formal Paediatric Palliative Care Course within their 6-year Paediatric Training Programme should be submitted along with the application.

3.Dissertations submitted for this Exit Assessment will be considered for the 2023 Best Dissertation Prize awarded by the College. Case reports will not be considered for the Prize.

Please be informed that the next MRCPCH Applied Knowledge in Practice (AKP) Exam will be held in HK on 17 May 2023.  Candidates wishing to sit the above exam in HK please apply both online using the RCPCH website (https://www.rcpch.ac.uk/userAND submit paper applications to our College.  

Please study carefully the details of application as outlined in the attached circular.

Application period

6 March 2023 (Mon) - 20 March 2023 (MON)

 

Examination Fee

HK$8,800

Payment should be made payable to Hong Kong College of Paediatricians.

Note: Please note that there will NOT be any test centre option for this diet of exam. If you encounter difficulty in taking the exam in online invigilation format, please consider taking the same exam in Sep 2023 which the test centre option is expected to open at that time.

 


Remarks
:

1. All theory exams have been moved to computer-based testing since January 2015. Please refer to the RCPCH website for more CBT information: https://www.rcpch.ac.uk/resources/theory-exams-mrcpch-dch-how-apply

2. Sample examination questions are available on the RCPCH website for candidates viewing.  Candidates sitting for CBT exams are strongly advised to study these sample questions at this link (https://www.rcpch.ac.uk/resources/theory-exam-sample-papers).

3. Candidates can sit the MRCPCH theory exams in any order, and are allowed to take the Applied Knowledge in Practice Exam as their first MRCPCH theory exam.

4. Those candidates who have never taken an exam with the RCPCH and/or do not have an RCPCH number are advised to first register for an exam account with the RCPCH any time before the application period (preferably 10 working days before the application period opens).  You do not need to wait until a specific examination opens to apply for an RCPCH online account.  You are not able to apply for any exams online until your registration for an exam account is accepted.

5. For details of online application procedures, please refer to the Guidance Notes for HK candidates attached.
