MRCPCH Foundation of Practice, Theory & Science Examination (formerly Part I), 16 February 2022 (Wednesday)

Dear Associates, Please be informed that the next MRCPCH Foundation of Practice, Theory & Science (FOP TAS) Examination will be held on 16 February 2022 (Wednesday). Candidates wishing to sit this exam in HK must apply both online using the RCPCH website ( https://www.rcpch.ac.uk/user ) AND submit paper applications to our College. Please study carefully the details of application as outlined in the attached circular.  Online Application period1 December 2021 (Wed) – 13 December 2021 (Mon) Options for sitting this exam1. At a test centre in person, or2. At your own home or workplace with online invigilation (online invigilation guide) Examination FeeFOP & TAS (both papers) HK$7,600FOP only (single paper) HK$4,700TAS only (single paper) HK$4,700 Payment should be made payable to Hong Kong College of Paediatricians. You are strongly advised to submit your online application promptly. Those candidates who have never taken an exam with the RCPCH and/or do not have an RCPCH number are advised to first register with the RCPCH well before the application period. A RCPCH number is needed in order to access the online application forms for exams. There will be TWO FOP TAS exams held in HK each year, one in February, and another one in October. Special Note: For candidates who have applied for the cancelled FOP TAS examination (test-centre option) originally held on 13 Oct 2021 (Wed), and who have NOT file a refund application, DO NOT RE-APPLY for this examination. Your seat will automatically be transferred to this diet. You CANNOT change from test centre option to online invigilation option. 30th Annual Scientific Meeting cum HM Lui Memorial Fund 20th Anniversary Symposium

Hong Kong College of Paediatricians 30th Anniversary Scientific Meeting cum HM Lui Memorial Fund 20th Anniversary Symposium    Please be informed that our College will hold its 30th Anniversary Scientific Meeting on 4 and 5 December 2021 (Saturday and Sunday). The first day will be in a hybrid format with on-site presentations at the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine Jockey Club Building and simultaneous online broadcasting. A number of sponsoring companies will set up exhibition booths on-site to disseminate health information to participants. The College Annual General Meeting, Fellowship Conferment Ceremony and 30th Anniversary Celebratory Dinner will follow right after this first-day programme. The second day of this Scientific Meeting will be held only virtually. A number of overseas speakers as well as local experts will present on topics related to the following three themes: (1) Training and Preparing Future Paediatricians; (2) COVID-19 in Children: Vaccines and Beyond; and (3) What the Future Holds for our Children. Concurrently, HM Lui Memorial Fund will celebrate its 20th Anniversary by holding a symposium in this Scientific Meeting. Nine awardees will present their training experiences. Besides these symposia, several companies will sponsor lunch lectures on both days to focus on important topics such as childhood vaccines and common skin and infectious diseases. A number of companies will also set up exhibition booths on-site on the first day to disseminate useful health and medical information to the participants. CME points will be awarded to Fellows participating in the 2-day symposium. Our College is going to standardize the method of recording your online participation using the Google Form that is accessible via QR code (or URL link) displayed on screen at the beginning, break and end of the CME sessions.Colleagues attending the programme physically on the first day will continue to sign on the CME attendance sheet. Please mark the dates so that you will not miss this landmark scientific event of our College. The tentative scientific programme is shown in the Appendix for colleagues’ reference, while the final programme will be sent to College members, Chiefs of Service and Training Supervisor of training units via emails in due course. Subspecialty of PE - Invitation to enrollment of Training Programme

Dear Members/Fellows of the Hong Kong College of Paediatricians, The Paediatric Endocrinology (PE) is now recognised as a Paediatric Subspecialty in the Hong Kong College of Paediatricians. It has been registered in the Specialist Register in The Medical Council of Hong Kong since February 2019. The PE Subspecialty Board now invites application from trainees for enrollment in the Training Programme.  Please kindly find enclosed file of training application form. 47th Exit Assessment, 16 December 2021 (Thursday)

Dear Members, The next Exit Assessment of the College will be held on 16 December 2021 (Thursday). Attached please find an announcement, application form, FORM A and FORM B for your information. Members wishing to sit this Exit Assessment can send your completed applications to the College from 1 September 2021 (Wednesday) onwards until 29 September 2021 (Wednesday). Please be reminded to include FORM A (Record of Higher Training in Paediatrics) and FORM B (Checklist for Dissertations) in your submission. Both hard and soft copies of your dissertations should also be submitted. 1.For all trainees who started their basic paediatric training on or after 1 July 2009, a proof of completion of a formal Child Protection Course within their 6-year Paediatric Training Programme should be submitted along with the application. 2.Dissertations submitted for this Exit Assessment will be considered for the 2022 Best Dissertation Prize awarded by the College.
